Travelers often remark that we are close enough to everything to park the car for the whole trip and walk everywhere, but also tucked back enough to enjoy a quiet and relaxing evening and truly feel like a local.
Most of the time the neighborhood is very quiet, but occasionally a neighbor may have a gathering (during the day), or someone may be working on their house, you will see people walking their dogs, or someone may be doing landscaping, etc. In other words, there are direct close neighbors so if you are looking for a remote rural property with no neighbors, this is not it. However, Our Hen house is in downtown which makes it convenient to enjoy all of the treasures and tourist attractions of the town with still feeling like a local.
The Hen House is located in the heart of it all. Only two blocks from beautiful historic lake Maria Sanchez. 8 minute walk to the heart of Flagler college area..and historic St.George street..and the oldest street in America, Avilles… . 5 blocks to the historic bay front and 7 blocks to historic bridge of lions..Oh, and bring your beach clothes and pack up the car with a cooler or bike it, the world is your oyster with this location..because the beautiful Anastasia state park and beach is only a mile away over the bridge. In Lincolnville, where our sweet hen house is located is just three houses down to the famous #1 breakfast/lunch restaurant in all of St. Augustine called “The Blue Hen”. Don’t feel like venturing into Old city? Want some authentic old town Lincolnville experiences? We’ve got you covered..just take a 5 minute walk to amazing restaurants like The Old City House, Preserve, San Sebastian’s winery, Ice Plant Distillery, or enjoy a beautiful 10 minute stroll or 5 minute bike ride around lake Marie Sanchez to the heart of downtown St. Augustine attractions, bars, & restaurants.
In Saint Augustine there is a festival almost every weekend. Our most noted festival of the year is the beautiful “nights of lights” that runs from the weekend before Thanksgiving through the 31st of January. This is a spectacular experience if you have never been. We’d highly recommend a visit during this time! The city is just breathtaking!
