Curated by your hosts at Pink Hen House
This is the version we would actually do: a slow morning close to home, a long afternoon in the old city, dinner early enough to walk off, and the evening saved for the backyard.
Everything below comes from our own guides and the cottage's own list of amenities — nothing here is a suggestion we have not used.
Afternoon
Friday — arrive and settle
Coffee or a late lunch at Cornerstone Cafe, three houses down, then the front porch with its four rocking chairs. Unpack, put the car in the driveway and leave it there.
The backyard is the reason to come early: the hot tub, the long dining table under the oak and the small firepit that takes a single Duraflame log.
Evening
Dinner, then the lit bridge
Book an early dinner and walk off afterwards. The bayfront is four blocks away and the Bridge of Lions is a 13-minute walk — it is lit at night and the water is right there.
No. 1
La Nouvelle Bistro
An upscale French bistro from local chef Michael Lugo at 102 Bridge St., in Lincolnville — the closest thing to a special-occasion table to the cottage.
No. 2
Harry’s Seafood, Bar & Grille
Waterfront seafood from our Craft Cocktails guide; ask for a table near the water.
Morning to evening
Saturday — the old city at a walk
Coffee first, then the historic downtown walk: the Lightner Museum, Flagler College across the street, the Plaza de la Constitución, St. George Street and the Castillo. Eight minutes from the cottage to the first of it.
No. 3250 feet from the cottage
Cornerstone Cafe
Our neighbor for coffee, breakfast or lunch — a cozy, locally owned Lincolnville spot.
No. 48 min walk from the cottage
Lightner Museum
Gilded Age collections in the former Hotel Alcazar.
Sunday
Brunch is the second meal that matters
Take your time with it. The Chatsworth does tea and brunch, Old City House is a favorite of ours, and Cornerstone is right next door when you want nothing fancy.
Any night
Or stay in
The kitchen is set up for cooking: quartz island with breakfast stools, a coffee bar, stainless appliances and an oven with warming modes. Buy dinner at the market, light the firepit, get in the hot tub. This is the night people tell us they remember.

Good to know
- Book dinner ahead for a weekend — the good rooms fill.
- Save the hot tub for after dinner; the backyard is private and fenced.
- The driveway parks two cars, so you never need to move one.
