Curated by your hosts at Pink Hen House
We have written about cocktails, breweries and brunch — but never a straight restaurant list. So this page starts as an index of the places we have actually published, and grows from there.
We are deliberately not adding restaurants we have not written about ourselves. When we do, they will come from our own meals, not from a search result.
Dinner we would book
The two we would choose for a sit-down dinner, one French and one waterfront.
No. 1
La Nouvelle Bistro
An upscale French bistro from local chef Michael Lugo at 102 Bridge St., in Lincolnville — the closest special-occasion table to the cottage.
No. 2
Harry’s Seafood, Bar & Grille
Waterfront seafood and raw bar, from our Craft Cocktails guide.
Casual and close to home
Where we go when we do not want to move the car.
No. 3250 feet from the cottage
Cornerstone Cafe
Our neighbor for coffee, breakfast or lunch — about 250 feet from the cottage.
Brunch carries over
The brunch guide is the closest thing we have to a restaurant list already. The Chatsworth does both tea and brunch, and is a pub at night.
What is missing
A real best-of list needs our own shortlist — the places we go back to, and what we order. That is the one thing we will not guess at.
On the map
Where it all is, from the Hen House
The hen marks our block in Lincolnville. Walking times appear only where we have measured them.
